Information. With [livejournal.com profile] chloeas.

Oliver's mind had not been on work the entire afternoon, especially when he'd gotten a message from Chloe stating that Stuart had woke up, and that she was going to go talk to him. His stomach was tight with unease as he waited on the doorstep. It never felt right to just barge in on her. Watchtower was her place, and while she'd always made it clear he was welcome, it just felt wrong to let himself in.

So he reached up and rang the bell, looking up at the security camera and offering her a grin. Not as wide as it could have been, but a grin nonetheless.

With a nod, she held his gaze before turning to look at the screen on her computer, "Stuart opened the access to the security cameras of the mansion so I can keep an eye on her at all times," she glances at Oliver then back at the screen as it divided in four, showing different angles of the study, "I'm sure I will know if she's planning something."

"Don't count on it." His voice was quiet, grave. He looked at the screen, feeling more than uneasy now. "She's far too smart to let herself get caught like that." He drew in a breath and let it out slowly. "She's not like Clark or even me. Lex made her his protege for a reason. She's always a step ahead."

Chloe turned to look at him again, frowning hard, "she doesn't know I'm watching her, Oliver, she trusts Stuart, or at least did, so much she dragged him in with her to look into Lois' brain."

"Yeah, and when he didn't cooperate like she wanted him to, he shot him, Chloe." He gave her a look. He pushed himself away from the desk and rubbed the back of his neck, lost in thought.

She turned her eyes back to the screen, frowning, she knew he had a point and that yes, Tess was definitely going to attempt something against her, but she wasn't going to let herself freak out just yet. She had managed to get what she wanted from the woman once before, she could keep an eye on Tess and keep herself safe.

He was silent for a long moment. "I'm moving in." It wasn't a question or even a request. It was a statement of fact.

That made her stop, her eyes wide as she turned around, confused and looked over at him, "what?"

[identity profile] dl-greenarrow.livejournal.com 2009-11-22 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
"I said I'm moving in," he repeated, turning to face her.

"To the Watchtower?" She frowned slightly, still not really being able to process his words.

He glanced around then focused on her once more. "To wherever you are," he answered seriously. "Where you go, I go."

"Oliver, I live with Lois." She really did spend most of her time at the Watchtower, at least four or five nights a week she spent there, but still, in theory, she lived in the apartment above the Talon.

"Not anymore." He gazed at her intently. He knew better than anyone just how much time she spent at Watchtower. He'd dropped by very late and very early on more than one occasion. She was almost always there, working. Sometimes he wondered if she even slept.

Holding his gaze for a long moment, Chloe considered, she didn't like the way he was imposing this on her, but she knew he wanted to do this to protect her, she would still go to Smallville a couple of times a week, make sure Lois was okay, but this might be for the best.

Besides, even though things were already different and that future wasn't going to happen anymore, Oliver had been the only one she could trust then, it seemed, she didn't want to lose this mutual trust they were building now, if Clark ended up turning his back on them, they would need each other if they wanted to protect the world as well as themselves.

With a single nod, she tightened her jaw and turned back to look at the screen.

He knew she didn't like it, and he hadn't missed the clenching of her jaw. He watched as she turned away from him, and he remained silent for a long moment.

"Chloe." His voice was quiet and he moved so he was standing beside her. "You won't even know I'm here most of the time. I promise."

"I don't mind you being here, Oliver." She stopped what she was doing but didn't turn to face him. She really did enjoy his company a lot, it had been a lot easier to talk to him than to Clark lately.
