Broken Things...with chloeas

Oliver climbed the stairs toward Chloe's apartment, glancing at his watch. He was a couple of minutes late and he cursed the phone conference that had kept him busy longer than he'd intended. When he finally made it to the apartment, he found the door open a little and immediately grew tense.

He could just sense something wasn't right. "Chloe?" he ventured, reaching out and gently pushing the door open, stunned to find the apartment wrecked. Broken glass was everywhere, tables were tipped over, papers scattered.

And Chloe was nowhere to be seen.

"Chloe!" His voice was urgent.

Chloe rolled her eyes and shook her head as she picked up more clothes from the floor, "you don't know how rare it is for my dad to think someone I could possibly be going out with is 'nice'." She said teasingly.

He raised his eyebrows at that. "Your dad didn't like Jimmy either?" He grimaced as the 'either' slipped out, and hoped she wouldn't catch that.

Of course she caught it, and she was surprised by it, "you don't like Jimmy?" She asked, raising her eyebrows and stopping what she was doing to look at him.
