The party is in a large, classically-decorated ballroom, hundreds and hundreds of tiny white lights brighten the room.

A live orchestra is playing in one corner of the room, waiters and waitresses handing out Hors d'oeuvres from silver trays, along with glasses of fine wine and champagne.

Tess half smiles back. "I'm glad to be invited."

Chloe nods and sips on her water again, "how are Alice and Alexander?"

"They're doing very well. Alexander wanted to be my date tonight so he could come see the 'fancy party.'" Tess' expression softens at the memory. "And I have to say you've outdone yourself. Everything looks wonderful."

"He would have been welcomed here." She smiles at the mention of Alexander.

"Thank you, Tess," she says sincerely, "I hope it's just the first one."

Tess shakes her head, vaguely amused. "I don't think your streamers would have survived had I brought him. He's quite the bundle of energy now that his medication has evened out."

"As a child his age should be, I'm glad to hear things are more settled with him." She says with a smile.

"So am I." Her eyes drop briefly to Chloe's stomach. "And how are you feeling?"

Chloe looks down at her stomach and nods, automatically placing her free hand on top of it, "really well, it's been pretty smooth sailing since the morning sickness phase ended."

"Oh, don't worry. It gets worse." Yes, that's Tess' idea of being comforting.

She smirks and raises her eyebrows at the other woman, "I'm aware, which is why I'm determined to enjoy it now."

Tess nods. "Best to start that now, because that line of thinking will never go away."

"You mean the 'better enjoy this now' part?" Chloe asked, smirking a little, "is that how you've been around Alice?"

"I mean you learn to enjoy what you've got when you've got it. Like peace and quiet or ten minutes to nap while they're still sleeping," Tess elaborates.

"I can see that," she agrees, "I have been sleeping longer and more often than I have in my entire life, maybe I should enjoy that too while I can."
