It was a quiet night in Metropolis, Kansas.

Which considering the recent crime-wave that had brought him to the city in the first place, was highly unusual.

He watched the LuthorCorp building silently from a few rooftops away. Maybe it was time to get down to the other thing that had brought him to Kansas. Nodding slightly, he ran across the roof and jumped over to the next building, a little shorter building than the one he'd just been on.

He was about to fire a zipline to the company building when he spotted a figure down below, looking a little too interested in...picking the door lock?

He raised his eyebrows behind the dark glasses he wore and watched her for a moment. He couldn't exactly break in if someone else was already breaking in.

Which meant he'd have to confront her.

At least the night was about to get more interesting.

Chloe was trying her hardest to move as fast as possible as she worked on the lock, she checked her tiny laptop that was on the floor and made sure the alarm was off before trying the piece of metal once more against the lock, holding her breath then blowing it out when the door finally gave under her hand.

"Okay, Chloe, you can do this," she told herself, holding the door open with her foot and picking up the laptop, shoving it on her messenger bag and pushing her way inside.

She had broken into LuthorCorp facilities several times before, but the Metropolis ones had a much better security than the Smallville ones ever did.

"You know, when most people break and enter it's to steal a computer out of a place, not take one inside."

She stilled completely, her stomach dropping when she heard the voice behind her, swallowing hard, she shifted on her feet and took a deep breath, "which goes to show that's not what I'm doing, I just forgot my keys."

Worth a shot, right?

Completely worth the shot, but that didn't mean he was buying it.

"Sure you did. Why don't you tell me what you're really doing breaking into LuthorCorp at Midnight?"

She took a deep breath and turned around, completely ready to bullshit him and then she realized that this man was no security guard and at that, her attitude completely changed.

Arching an eyebrow, cocked her head, "why would I tell you? I'll take a wild guess and assume you're doing the exact same thing. You're definitely not one of the bozos the Luthors hired." She had never seen one dressed like that anyway, she could only hope she was right.

He smirked at her. "I generally stop people from breaking and entering," he informed her. This was definitely turning out to be more interesting than he'd thought it would be.

Chloe eyed him closely and arched an eyebrow, "you do realize that you doing the exact same thing you're trying to stop me from doing, kind of defeats the purpose of stopping me, right?" She asked, placing a hand on her hip.

"Actually when you broke in, you left the door unlocked," he responded with amusement. "So why don't you tell me why you're breaking into Lex Luthor's office building?"

"Look," Chloe said, "I know you're not going to stop me, you would have a gun pointed at me if you were planning to," she pointed out, "so why don't you go stop more dangerous people from breaking and entering banks or whatever it is you do and leave me alone?"

He frowned. "I don't like guns, Lady."

"No guns?" Chloe smirked, arching her eyebrows at him and nodding, "see you later." She told him, turning around and starting toward the elevators once more, her heart pounding against her chest, her eyes wide. She had no idea who that guy was, but once she stole the information from Lex, she had to find out.

For a moment he just stared after her in disbelief. "That doesn't mean I'm unarmed. Bullets aren't the only weapon available."

"I'll take your word for it," she called, not stopping, she could only hope he wouldn't stab her on the back or something. She knew turning her back to a possible enemy was incredibly stupid, but it wasn't like she could fight him if she had to so being boldly stupid was pretty much her only option.

He blinked once, then again, not even sure what to make of her. Shaking his head, he followed her quickly, not even bothering to pull his crossbow. It wasn't like she was dangerous. Obviously.

"All right. Seriously. You're gonna have to leave."

Chloe took a deep breath and turned to face him, her jaw tight, "or what?" She asked, staring at him, "I don't know who the hell you are or what kind of creepy kinky stuff you're into, but I'm sure you can go find a club or two in South Metropolis that you'll fit right in, just pretend you never saw me and we can both move on."

Now he was just annoyed.

"You should hold onto your computer," he informed her.
