Mission: Ruin Lex Luthor. With chloeas

Oliver hadn't been home from the Metropolis office of Q.I. for a full hour before the sun began to descend, which meant it was time to put his plan into action. Feeling confident as he drank down the last of his coffee, he made his way to his secret room and changed into his Green Arrow uniform. He checked over his supplies, and satisfied he had everything he needed, he stepped out of the room, ready to call out and let Chloe know that he was going out for patrol.

Which was mostly the truth.

Except Chloe was standing right in front of him, her arms folded across her chest.

And he had the distinct feeling he wasn't going to be leaving quite as soon as he thought.

"You're going after Lex." She stated simply, her eyes on his face, her expression completely serious. She had been expecting that to happen for a while now, she was surprised it had taken this long for Oliver to try and get back at Lex for the car accident he sent her way and whatever else he had done to piss Oliver off this time.

Shit.

How the hell had she known that?

For a few seconds, he simply stared back at her blankly, glad he'd already put on his night vision glasses so she couldn't see his eyes.

"What makes you say that?"

Cocking her head, she gave him a look, "I may be a lot of things, boss, but one thing I'm not is stupid."

With a pause, she smirked, "besides, next time you want to be sneaky, don't leave the facility map's open on the main computer?"

"I never said you were stupid," he pointed out.

Then he blinked at her comment. Crap. He was annoyed, and he was annoyed that he couldn't be annoyed at her for catching him. Not when he'd done something an amature would do.

He looked away for a moment, then back at her. "All right. I'm hitting one of his facilities."

He headed for the elevator, still grinning, and pushed the down button once she was standing beside him.

This was going to be an interesting night.

Chloe cocked her head to look at him and raised her eyebrows, "so... exploding a facility just to let Lex know someone is watching him?"

He smirked. "Well. That and I'm bored." He glanced at her sideways.

Chloe smirked too and raised her eyebrows, "both good enough reasons to me."

Chloe grinned and raised her eyebrows, looking around for a moment then at him, "Go for it."

"You ready to run?" He raised his eyebrows at her as he fiddled with a small remote.

"I'm always ready, boss," she spoke quietly through the communicator and nodded firmly at him.

Nodding back, Oliver set the timer and flashed her a grin. "Let's get the hell out of here."

She looked back at him for a long moment and shrugged a shoulder, "as long as we're clear."

"So, how serious were you about wanting to be involved in a motorcycle chase?" he asked warily, glancing past her and off in the distance.

With a glance at the motorcycle, she frowned then looked back at him, "why? Planning on pissing someone off so they can chase us?"

"Think we already did that." He nodded toward the security guards approaching them at a far too fast pace for his liking. "Shit. Come on." He quickly climbed onto the bike, revving the engine.

"Exactly, this is yet one more time we both survived, why are you kicking yourself over it? Shouldn't we be celebrating?" She knew that was taking things a little too far, but she had seen more than plenty of self-kicking from Clark, she didn't want Oliver to do the same.

He glanced over at her in bemusement. "Depends on what you have in mind as a celebration."

This time, he was the one who caught her by surprised, she really hadn't meant it like that at all, but if that would help him relax and stop moping, well, then she could play along, "Huh, I'm open to ideas?" She wished she had a better answer, but she wasn't prepared at all and to go from sidekick mode to tease mode needed some effort.

She kicked her foot a little to make the bunny's ears move then lowered her foot back down, "then I just might..." She smirked and raised her eyebrows slowly. It was nice that she could just be herself around him like that.

He grinned at her involuntarily. That smile she gave him made it impossible not to smile back. "So are you planning to call it an early night?" he asked curiously. It was barely ten, but it had been a fairly eventful evening. He couldn't blame her if she was tired and wanted to sleep.

With a shake of her head, she shrugged, "not really? I just wanted to be comfortable, those pants were really tight..." She made a face then cocked her head, a little more careful at her next question, "are you going to bed?"

"I guess I just don't think of drinking it, you know?" She leaned her head against the back of the couch, "I mean, if I want something warm, I will just go for coffee, it's my instinct." She paused, "I know, you're shocked."

He smirked at her. "Stunned," he deadpanned, taking another drink as he watched her. "I'm guessing it's that whole reporter thing."

"Maybe?" She raised her eyebrows and shrugged, "but my dad is a plant manager and he's just as addicted to coffee as I am. Maybe it runs in the family."
