Oliver took a moment to gather his bearings when Clark dropped him off on the roof of his loft. Truthfully, he was more than a little shaken at the fact Lana now knew his secret. She may be best friends with Chloe, but she was also married to Lex Luthor. And if Lex found out who he was, the fall-out wouldn't be pretty.

Clark had already taken off to go on patrol, promising to keep an ear out in case they needed him back in an instant, and Oliver had simply nodded and watched him go.

Drawing in a breath, he opened the sliding glass door and stepped inside. "Chloe?" He could hear the tension in his voice.

She felt like she had been holding her breath the entire time he was gone, there were so many things that could go wrong when you're dealing with the Luthors.

Then when it took Clark longer than two minutes to bring him back, Chloe started pacing.

She took a deep breath when she heard him call her name and started towards the door, "in here."

His expression was involuntarily stricken as he moved toward her, holding out the small box. He drew in a breath and let it out slowly, trying to calm his nerves. When she took the box from him, he wound his arms around her, pressing a kiss to her temple.

With a deep, calming breath, she placed the box on the dining room table that was just next to them and wrapped her arms tightly around him, her chest tightening a little. Something was wrong.

"We may have a problem." His voice was quiet. He pulled away enough to look at her once more, worry clear in his eyes. "Lana knows."

Chloe's eyebrows rose as the first piece of information and at the second, her eyes widened, "... what happened?"

"Well, it was all going pretty smooth until she came from out of nowhere and pointed a gun at my chest." Again, he thought. "She threatened to call security. I tried to get around it by telling her that I was there to help Clark, but she wasn't buying it. I had no choice." He let out a breath, beginning to pace the floor slowly.

She reached out and held on to his arm, stopping him, "okay," she met his gaze and took a deep breath, "Ollie, it's gonna be fine, Lana has known about Clark for years, I will talk to her, you'll be fine."

He tried to let that reassurance soothe his nerves, but it didn't. He glanced at her. "It's different, Chloe. She's been in love with Clark for years. Me? We don't know each other that well. And yeah, she might stay quiet for awhile out of loyalty to you, but she's still married to Lex."

He let out a breath, shutting his eyes for a moment.

"Ollie, calm down." She rubbed her hand slowly over his upper arm, "I know what it sounds like and I know you don't know her that well, but regardless of who she is married to, Lana's loyalty will always lay with Clark and she knows you two are friends and now knows you work together, she knows how dangerous Lex is, she wouldn't do this to you, she wouldn't do this to us."

He kissed her forehead softly, lifting a hand to her cheek. "Clark's out patrolling, but he's keeping an ear out just in case," he told her. "What do you say to bed?" His voice was quiet. Truthfully, he wasn't tired.He just wanted to hold her.

Chloe nodded softly, running her fingers through his hair gently, "bed sounds good, why don't you go change and I'll put that rock somewhere safe?"

He nodded slightly, kissing her once more before heading to his secret room and taking his uniform off. In moments he was dressed in a pair of sweat pants. He headed down the hall toward the bedroom.

She was already in bed by the time he got back, she was restless and really didn't think she was going to be able to sleep any time soon, but she could lay down with him until he fell asleep, then make her way to the computer room and work on whatever she could find.

Oliver crawled into bed behind her, winding his arms around her and pulling her up against his bare chest. He pressed a kiss to the back of her head. He wanted to get both of their minds off the situation at hand. "So Ireland," he murmured. "We decided on a cottage, right?"

With a deep breath, she wrapped her arm around him and snuggled against his chest, she knew what he was doing and she honestly hoped it worked, closing her eyes, she nodded. "Yeah, a cottage, away from everything."

"Just you and me," he murmured, rubbing her back soothingly. "Sleeping in, relaxing. Making love," he said against her ear.

Chloe smiled softly at his words and turned her face slightly, kissing his cheek, "sounds perfect."

He kissed the palm of her hand. "I know. I want that too. But tonight, there's nothing that we can do about it," he said softly.

She brushed her thumb over his face and nodded a little, "I know, but... what if Clark finds him and comes by to let us know?"

"If that happens, then we'll deal with it. It's not good to stay this tense and stressed," he murmured.

With a deep breath, she nodded softly, "I know, but it's not good to be unprepared either."

He smiled faintly. "All right. Turn over," he said quietly. "On your stomach."

Chloe raised her head, looking at him questioningly but started pulling away from him anyway, "okay?"

"Just trust me," he said, giving her a look as he sat up, motioning with his hand for her to turn over.

Nodding, she did as he asked, laying on her stomach and turning her face towards him, raising her eyebrows a little.
