Oliver had only been in the hospital for a day (and not a full one at that) and he was more than ready to get out. Despite the fact that he'd lost enough blood a transfusion had to be performed, and the fact that he was in a great deal of pain (which he wasn't about to readily admit), he just wanted to go home.

But to no avail. Dr. Hamilton informed him he'd be there at least a couple more days before he'd have his freedom back.

"I hate hospitals," he grumbled, flipping through the TV channels once more.

"Thankfully," he said with a slight nod, laying his head back against the pillows. "How's Mexico?"

"Awesome, as usual... hot, in more ways than one," Bart grinned, leaning back against the chair, "the guys should be in town by tonight."

He looked down for a moment, then back over at Bart. "They really didn't have to make the trip. I'm all right." He shrugged a little.

Bart raised his eyebrows and shook his head, "dude, that's not what Clark said, he sounded pretty freaked out when he called me."

He shifted uncomfortably in the bed, grimacing a little and quickly schooling his features into neutrality once more. "Yeah, well. Clark's overdramatic."

"Whatever you say, man. When do you get out of here?" Bart crossed his arms over his chest as he looked up at the other man.

That made him grimace. "Couple of days," he grumbled, his tone indicating he was already more than happy to go home now.

"Sucks, dude, at least it looks like you're gonna have a lot of company." He grinned, trying to be supportive.

He smiled a bit at that. "Apparently so." The whole thing seemed a little odd to him. He'd been hurt before--not this seriously--but badly enough to require short hospital stays. And he'd never even called anyone, didn't want to bother them.

Bart grinned and shrugged, "gotta keep you entertained, boss. You sure the good doc won't let you go home?"

"That's a definite negative. And I considered tying my bedsheets together and vaulting out the window, but considering the stitches in my gut, I thought better of it."

At that, he made a face, "stitches? What did that thing do to you, man?"

Now he wished he'd kept his mouth shut. Shifting in the bed once more, he shrugged and looked at Bart. "Had big claws."
