Reaching Out. With chloeas.

Oliver glanced at Chloe sideways as he sat behind the wheel of his little orange sports car as he drove them to the airport. The jet was leaving in a half-hour for Snowmass, Colorado. He was anxious to get out of Kansas, and not just because he was feeling restless, but because he truly thought it would do Chloe some good to get out of there for awhile, as well.

"Wanna listen to Christmas music?" he asked, reaching toward the radio.

Chloe frowned a little then nodded, "well, I am glad she managed to drag you back North of the border at least."

"The thing is, Chloe...she tried to get me to talk to her." His voice was quiet. "I mean, really tried."

She watched him silently for a moment, trying to understand where he was going with this, "but?"

"But it didn't work," he said softly. "She couldn't reach me." He searched her eyes. "She doesn't know me anymore. And neither does Lois, or Clark."

Even though she didn't realize it, Chloe was holding her breath, "we seem to have a lot more in common than we realized before." She told him quietly.

"How do you mean?" he asked softly, not taking his eyes off her.

Chloe shook her head a little, not wanting to go in a different direction, "finish what you were saying and we'll get back to that."

"I think you know what I'm saying," he murmured. "You know me better than anyone else, Chloe."

She sighed deeply and smiled a little at him, "I'm just glad it worked when I tried to get you back, Oliver. I'm glad to have you with me." Honestly, she didn't know how she would be dealing with everything if he wasn't there with her.

He gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "You were the only one who could get me back," he admitted quietly. "The only one who knew how."
