Oliver had only been home from his visit to Lana Lang-Luthor for an hour when he heard the buzzer from downstairs sound. Glancing at the monitor, he spotted Clark standing there, staring up at the camera.

He sighed tiredly. He wondered how long it would take the super-powered farm boy to show up on his doorstep after that article in The Inquisitor had hit the stands that morning.

Actually, he'd expected a visit from him a little sooner than now. Taking a drink of his lemonade, he buzzed Clark up and waited.

"Of course he is," She sighed softly and shook her head, "Clark... has been through a lot, Oliver and every time something goes wrong, he blames himself for it. This over protectiveness is just him trying to prevent his next big guilt trip."

Chloe turned to look at him, she knew he was still pissed about whatever it was that Clark had said, but he didn't need to be. "I'm sorry he bothered you with it and I'm sorry it upset you, and I'm sure he said a lot of things that were unnecessary but it's better for you to just let it go. I will talk to him tomorrow and I'm sure he will realize he shouldn't have come here."

"I get why he's over-protective, Chloe. But I resent the implication that I willfully endanger anyone on my team." His voice was tense and he looked up at her.

Her eyes widened slightly when he spoke and she shook her head again, "I'm sorry, Oliver. I know you wouldn't and I'm sorry Clark implied that. It's just hard for him to understand that you and I can do the things he does and be okay in the end. He sees us as a lot more fragile than we see ourselves." She knew she shouldn't be making excuses for Clark, but she didn't want the two of them to fight like this.

"Chloe, you don't need to apologize for Clark. He's a big boy and he can defend himself." He rose to his feet, pushing himself away from the counter and finishing off the coffee. "You're not the one who said it and there's no reason to apologize."
