Lunch. With have_no_mercy.

Oliver had arrived at Pastabilities five minutes early, and was waiting for Tess in the lobby area. It had been awhile since he'd been out to lunch, and even longer since he'd been to this particular restaurant, even though it was one of his favorites in Metropolis.

Sitting in one of the wooden chairs, he found himself thinking about the upcoming trip to Star City. Even though it was only going to be for a couple of days, he was looking forward to it immensely.

It wasn't that he didn't like Metropolis.

He simply missed home. Usually he stayed so busy he didn't have time to think about missing his home city, and things had been crazier than usual lately, and somehow the nostalgia had crept up on him.

He nods a little. "Yeah, gonna check on things back home, make sure everything's going okay." He smiles a bit. "Are we still on for skydiving next weekend?"

"Good. That's good." She supposes. He seems relatively happy about it, anyway.

"Of course we are. I wouldn't miss it."

"Excellent." He looks up as the waiter brings their food finally and he sits back as the man sets their plates down carefully.

Food. Perfect timing, because Tess is still starving. So there isn't going to much conversation on her part for the next little while. Except to possibly ask him to pass the salt.

Which of course, he does.

They eat in what he feels, at least, is a relatively comfortable silence, and when they are finished he smiles a bit. "Should we indulge and order dessert?"

"Absolutely," she replies almost immediately. "The more chocolate, the better."

He grins in agreement and motions to the waiter once more. "We'd like to see your dessert menu."

And there's more waiting. In silence. Which is getting a little awkward.

"So. Whose expense account are we using for this?"

He shrugs a little. "Doesn't matter to me. I'm good with either."

Tess sighs softly. "I suppose it should be mine. It was my lapse of sanity that got us here."

Oliver tries not to be offended by that, but he can't help but feel a little hurt. "All right."

Unfortunately, she doesn't seem to notice. "Do us both a favour and the next time I suggest lunch? Just say no."

His jaw tightens slightly at that. "I have a feeling I'm going to be busy in the near future anyway." His voice betrays nothing.

That Tess notices, but doesn't say anything about it. Instead, she simply replies in a more business like manner.

"Busy is good. Anything I should be aware of?"

"Not really," he answers carefully.
