The jet ride from Kansas to Hawaii had been long, and most of them had dozed off and on during it. It had been a long time since he'd been to Hawaii, and he had been looking forward to it now more than he had even the first time he'd gone. And now, as he lay back on one of the sandy white beaches of Kauai, sunglasses on and a pina colada in one hand, he smiled, listening to the quiet sounds of the ocean lapping at the beach.

She smiled back at him and sat up a little, looking over at Mia in the water, "she looks happy."

Oliver followed her gaze and he smiled too. "Yeah, she does. This is good for us. All of us." He glanced at her sideways.

Chloe nodded, looking at him for a moment then leaning in and kissing him softly, "thank you for bringing us here."

He kissed her back without hesitation. "You're welcome. Thanks for coming with me."

"Like I would miss the opportunity?" She grinned softly, brushing her nose against his, "we're still taking a long trip when Mia is on summer break."

Oliver leaned his forehead against hers. "Anywhere you two want to go. We could hit a few different places even. See the world."

She lifted a hand to cup his face and smiled, nodding, "I think we can let Mia pick," she suggested, "And Vic can help me set up the Watchtower on my laptop and we can keep an eye on them wherever we are."

"Sounds good to me," he agreed, brushing his nose against hers lightly, and then kissing the corner of her mouth.

"Then it's a plan," she said softly, then turned her head slightly and kissed him.

Oliver kissed her back, closing his eyes. He couldn't really think of anything better than being there in Hawaii, with Chloe and Mia and Michael and their friends. All of the bad things seemed to fade into the distant past and for now, as far as he was concerned, that was a good thing.
