Oliver had only been in the hospital for a day (and not a full one at that) and he was more than ready to get out. Despite the fact that he'd lost enough blood a transfusion had to be performed, and the fact that he was in a great deal of pain (which he wasn't about to readily admit), he just wanted to go home.

But to no avail. Dr. Hamilton informed him he'd be there at least a couple more days before he'd have his freedom back.

"I hate hospitals," he grumbled, flipping through the TV channels once more.

"Ready to go home," he said hopefully, raising his eyebrows.

She smiled softly and nodded, "I completely understand, trust me," dropping her hand to his, she squeezed it softly, "I'll keep you company for the next two days."

He turned his hand slightly and slid his fingers through hers. "What about work?" His eyebrows furrowed slightly.

She rubbed her thumb over the back of his hand softly, "I'll go get my laptop, I can work from here."

He relaxed a little at the light caress, resting his head back against the pillows. "All right." He smiled faintly, closing his eyes for a moment, then opening them again. "How's Davis?"

She took a deep breath, not really an easy way to answer that question. "Human." She said softly with the hint of a smile, "freaked out, confused, scared, grateful... he remembers everything, Ollie. He saw everything the monster did."

He grimaced a little and exhaled slowly. "He's going to need a new identity." He was quiet for a moment. "A new start."

"I know." She nodded and reached down, setting her coffee cup on the floor before taking his hand in both of hers, "I already told him I would help with everything he needs, but I think he might need a couple of days to try to make sense of it all."

He nodded slightly, looking down at their hands for a long moment. He was just glad that she hadn't been hurt during the whole mess. He drew in a breath and let it out slowly. "You know, I love you. But you don't have to stay here the whole time, Chloe. I know you hate hospitals."

Chloe frowned softly and looked down at their hands too, but her expression grew serious, "I'm not leaving you alone."

He gazed at her for a moment, squeezing her hand gently. "Hey. You all right?"

Chloe nodded softly, taking a deep breath, "yeah, it was just a really long day?" She said quietly, glancing at him, "it just came too close for my taste."

He drew in a breath and let it out slowly. "I'm sorry," he said softly, pulling his hand from hers and lifting it to her face.

She turned her face and kissed his palm softly, "I'm just glad you're okay, Ollie..." She shifted on the bed and looked up at him.

"And I'm just glad you didn't get hurt. And that it all worked out all right." He smiled faintly.

She nodded, chewing on her bottom lip a little, "also, I... hm, told Davis he could stay at my apartment."

He wasn't really surprised by that. "That was nice of you," he murmured.

Chloe took a deep breath, she hadn't expected him to get what she was trying to tell him by that, but she thought it was a good start, "I figured he could stay there for the next two months at least, until my lease is up... since I'm moving out anyway." She raised her eyebrows, watching him closely.

He was silent for a moment, his stare blank until he blinked with surprise. "Oh."

She raised her eyebrows, looking at him, "that is, if you still want to have me as your roommate?"

He met her eyes. "I don't think roommate would be my term of choice," he said softly, his eyes filled with warmth.

She leaned closer to him and pressed a soft kiss against his lips, "what would it be?"

He thought about that for a moment as he returned the kiss. "Live-in girlfriend?"

With a smiled, she nodded, lifting a hand to touch his cheek, "sounds like a good title to have."

She had been nervous about this since he asked her to move in with him almost a month ago, but after everything that had happened in the past twenty-four hours, after almost losing him, she decided that it was time to stop letting her fear of commitment influence her life.

She loved him, she was completely in love with him, she was in the happiest, healthiest relationship she's ever had and she didn't want to waste time being away from him anymore.

He smiled at her in return. "Are you sure?" The thought of her moving in thrilled him. To a lot of guys, it would have meant less freedom, but Oliver was just happy it meant they'd be together more often.

They wouldn't have to sleep apart anymore, unless one of them had to go away on business of some kind.

But he wanted her to be sure it was what she wanted.
