Oliver stood outside the theater on the square, leaning back against the brick building casually and looking up at the sky. His mind was working over the details of the case in Gotham that Bruce had been trying to figure out, but he was just as stumped as his friend was. He frowned a little as a drop of rain hit his face and he sighed a little as it was followed by another.

He looked out to the street and smiled a bit as he saw Chloe's car pull into a parking place. He pushed himself away from the building and headed toward her as she climbed out of the vehicle.

"Pretty uneventful," she smiled, looking up at him as they walked, "how was Gotham?"

He paused, glancing back at her. "The opposite actually. It was rather upsetting."

At that, she paused, frowning softly and a little surprised by his honesty, "what happened?"

Oliver drew in a breath and let it out slowly. "Apparently there have been three abductions in Gotham. All young high school girls, all within the last month. The police don't have any leads." Not wanting her to get suspicious about why he was so concerned about the crime, he went on. "One of the victim's families is having a benefit this weekend. So I'll be making a return trip."

Her eyes widened and she shook her head, "I'm really sorry, Oliver. Is that someone you know?"

He shook his head a little. "No. But I feel like I should go to at least offer financial support, considering there's nothing else I really can do."

Chloe nodded, taking a deep breath, "I know a couple of people at the Gotham Times, maybe I could ask them if they know anything?"

He glanced at her, nodding a little. "That'd be great. I'm sure the families would appreciate any and all help they can get at this point." He was quiet for a moment. "How would you feel about going to the benefit with me?"

She raised her eyebrows, watching him for a second, "you want me to come to Gotham with you?"

"Only if you want to. If you don't, or if you're not comfortable with it, I understand," he told her seriously.

Chloe shook her head, "if I have the opportunity to look into it myself, I would love to try to help those poor families." She told him, assuming by his look that him inviting her had nothing to do with a third date and everything to do with helping find those girls, which was something she could definitely admire.
