Oliver stood outside the theater on the square, leaning back against the brick building casually and looking up at the sky. His mind was working over the details of the case in Gotham that Bruce had been trying to figure out, but he was just as stumped as his friend was. He frowned a little as a drop of rain hit his face and he sighed a little as it was followed by another.

He looked out to the street and smiled a bit as he saw Chloe's car pull into a parking place. He pushed himself away from the building and headed toward her as she climbed out of the vehicle.

She was surprised to see him standing right next to her car when she got out, smiling, she cocked her head, "hey, didn't expect to see you for a few more steps."

This time, she was on time and in the past couple of days, she had felt herself really looking forward to seeing him again, of course it was because he was the closest thing to a friend she had in town, but she was glad it was finally Friday night.

He smiled back at her and offered her his arm. "Hope it was a good surprise," he said lightly. "You look great."

After dropping her keys into her purse, she took his arm and smiled up at him, "thank you and it was definitely a nice surprise. Have you been here long? I'm actually on time today."

"Maybe you can earn your pulitzer from it," he told her with a small smile. "The Star City reporter who saved the lives of three young women." Guilt tugged at him. He knew he was dragging her into something that was potentially very dangerous. But resolve set in. She was willing to help, and he and Bruce needed just that.

It just meant he'd have to keep her close in order to keep her safe.

"In cases like this, the Pulitzer is the last thing on my mind," she smiled softly at him and nodded, "when are we leaving?"

"Tomorrow afternoon. The benefit's in the evening," he told her.

He smirked and turned his head to look at her. "I hear he's friends with a six foot rabbit that hands out Easter baskets in the spring."

"Oh yeah," she turned slightly in her seat towards him "they work together, actually, which is why they are never around at the same time, one is always backstage, making sure production is on time."

His smirk widened as he turned to face her more, as well. "And of course if one gets sick, then the other can take over to make sure everything goes smoothly."

Oliver nodded and rose to his feet, holding his hand out to her and offering her a smile. "What'd you think?" he asked curiously.

She took his hand and stood up, nodding, "they were surprisingly good," she kept her eyes on him, "what did you think?"

He nodded slightly. "They were good, as usual," he agreed, letting her lead him out of the theater.

Cocking her head a little, she smirked, "I hate even using that word, but that's not what the tabloids say." Mostly, she was teasing.

He chuckled faintly. "And here you had me convinced you didn't pay attention to those," he teased back.

"Sometimes, we all need a good laugh." She raised her eyebrows, eyes on his.

"You don't know what you're missing, it's like drinking a Reese's cup." She told him before turning her own attention back to the menu.

He grinned a little at her statement. "Which would probably be great if not for the fact that I'm allergic to peanuts," he told her, not looking up from the menu.

That made her pause and she frowned a little, "oh, I guess it's not worth dying over it."

At that, she laughed, shaking her head a little, "I guess I don't have a choice in the matter. Sure, going out every now and then is fun, but I really do enjoy my work just as much, and I get paid to do it. It's backwards already." She grinned.

He hung his head a little in mock sorrow. "Well, then I guess the world is doomed," he joked.

Chloe chuckled softly and shrugged, "hey, it could be a lot worse. At least everyone will start having more fun?"

"Ah, another sport, I think you were lying to me." She teased softly, "I like the cold myself, although snow can get annoying after a couple of days."

"Skiing counts as a sport? I think of it more as a hobby," he teased back. "Snow's good. Ice, on the other hand...well I'm glad we don't get that here either."

"And I wasn't even trying," she smirked at him, "but good to know."

He chuckled softly, resting his arms on the table once more as he gazed at her.
