Oliver didn't sleep well that night. Even after deciding to go patrolling for another couple of hours after Bart walked in on him and Chloe, he still wasn't quieted enough to rest. He tossed and turned, alternately staring at the digital clock on his bedside table, and staring at the ceiling.

More than once he'd contemplated just going across the hall to Chloe's room to talk out what had happened, or better yet, spend the night in her bed. But he'd resisted.

He knew they were going to have to at least try and explain things to Bart today. He didn't think the younger man would say anything, if for no other reason than because he was now terrified of Chloe.

A faint smile touched his lips as he thought about how hot she'd looked pissed off like that. He groaned, throwing an arm over his eyes and willing his brain to shut off. Especially when it came to thoughts like that.

By sunrise, he finally gave up on the notion of sleep and rose from his bed, showering just to help him keep his eyes open, and heading down the hall to make coffee.

The night hadn't been easy on her either, not only because she felt extremely bad about the way she had talked to Bart, but a stupid part of her felt rejected because after Bart left, Oliver seemed to have lost all interest in resuming their plans.

In theory, she knew it was because of how awkward things had gotten, but she couldn't help the extra girly feelings from taking over sometimes. Of course, the fact that he had been gone when she got out of the shower didn't help at all.

She had forced herself to go to bed, but had ended up staying awake until she heard him get back and then, eventually, after rehearsing her conversation with Bart for the next day about a thousand times in her head, she managed to get some sleep.

After a night of restless sleep, she woke up early and changed right away, she planned on making her way over to Smallville and she hoped Oliver would still be asleep so he wouldn't insist on coming along, but when she stepped out of her room and smelled the coffee, she knew that wasn't going to happen.

He heard the quiet footfall behind him and turned to see her pausing in the entry to the kitchen. "Morning," he told her, offering her a small smile. He wasn't sure how things would be between them now and that made him extremely uneasy. He didn't know how freaked out she was about Bart knowing.

"Morning." She pulled on her top a little, adjusting it and smiling awkwardly at him before making her way over to the coffee pot. He should be glad he actually got a word and a smile out of her before her caffeine, of course she had only forced herself to do that because she didn't want things to be even more awkward between them.

He smiled a bit and exhaled slowly, taking a drink of his coffee. "And as much as I'd really like to spend the entire morning making up for last night, we should probably go talk to Bart."

She couldn't help but smile at that and nod for a second before taking a deep breath, at least they had agreed on that. "Yeah... that's going to be fun."

He moved over to stand in front of her, dropping a kiss onto her forehead, then letting his gaze rest on her lips. "After we're done, we could always spend the day in bed." He smiled.

He grinned and followed her, grabbing his jacket on the way to the door. "Wanna drive?" He raised an eyebrow, holding his keys up.

She picked up her purse then raised her eyebrows, turning to look at him, "are you serious?" Drive Oliver's car on the nearly deserted road to Smallville? Sounded like fun.

He held the keys out to her with a smirk. "Completely."

Squinting, she glanced over at him, "what?"

He shook his head a little and leaned back in the seat, stretching his legs out in front of him as he looked out the windshield. "I learn more about you every day."

She was a little surprised by that, and shrugged a shoulder, "is that supposed to be a good thing?" She would think so, but the look on his face wasn't exactly a pleased look.

"Ah-ha." She sat up, giving him a look, "that's why you wanted me to drive."

He arched an eyebrow. "So I didn't fall asleep at the wheel and kill us in a fiery car crash?"

Nodding, she smirked, "that too," she teased, "but if you really need to sleep, sleep now, because you won't after we get back."

Raising her eyebrows a little, she gave him a look, "I was going to get that." Considering she didn't pay rent and he had the habit of paying for everything when he was in town, she had quite a bit saved up.

He gave her a look right back and rolled his eyes as the woman handed her his card back. "You can buy dinner," he said wryly.

When he heard the knock, he wasn't sure if he should open or not, after all, he wasn't sure he wanted to talk to the two people who knew he was there.

He considered just making his escape through the window but he knew they would find him sooner or later and he never wanted to see Chloe that pissed off again. Not at him anyway.

Opening the door, he raised his eyebrows a little, looking between the two of them.

Oliver held the bag out to him. "We brought breakfast," he said, offering him a somewhat sheepish grin.

Shifting uneasily, she looked at Oliver for a second then back at Bart, "you can stay here as long as you want, just bring me the keys when you're done."

Bart shrugged and looked over at her mid-bite, swallowing his food and nodding, "I'm going back tonight, I just wanted to stop by, but thanks."

"Yeah, it's not like he's the most observant or perceptive guy in the galaxy," he said wryly, stretching out in the seat.

Frowning slightly, she glanced at him, shrugging, "you really don't like him very much, do you?"

Chloe shook her head and shrugged a shoulder, "punning is... my dad's favorite thing to do and it seems he rubbed off on me after all."

He smiled, nodding a little. "Now that makes more sense," he told her. "How is your dad?"
